Chapter 248: 31 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 3.
Here is one of our favourite quotes from a Canadian politician who died too soon:
“My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic.” – from Jack Layton’s farewell letter to Canadians.
Thanks, Fran. I’m still not sure what I did to have this become a post on our blog. I thought I was just doing a “like” and adding to a neat list of favourite quotes posted by 18yearsyoung.wordpress.com. Somehow I guess I did a “pingback” (the use of which I still don’t understand) and the Jack Layton quote became a new post for us. Ah, well. I still have a lot to learn about blogging. Anyway, yes, it is a very good quote. As you probably know, Jack Layton, a great politician whom we supported, left it as part of his farewell to Canadians. I just came from a celebration of life for Bill Tilson, a neighbour who, like Jack, died too soon. It is appropriate for us to dwell on this quote today as Bill also lived by the words of this quote. He was loving, hopeful and optimistic – a good goal to strive for.
